Repairing a Waterproof Jacket

Hello, everyone!

I’ve had my waterproof jacket for a few years, but recently the glue on the cuffs and neck tab has started to come undone from the waterproof lining. I’ve read that it can be an easy fix, but I’m hesitant to try it myself and risk damaging the jacket. I’ve found some online services, but the shipping costs are really high.

Does anyone know of any local places where I could drop it off for repairs? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

  1. Hi there!

It sounds like you’ve got a nice jacket that just needs a little TLC! If you’re looking to avoid expensive shipping costs, I’d recommend checking out local outdoor gear shops or specialized repair shops in your area—they often offer repair services or can recommend someone who does. You might also want to try contacting the brand of your jacket directly; they sometimes have repair programs or can direct you to authorized repair centers.

Another option could be to look for local seamstresses or tailors, as many of them are experienced with fabric repairs and could help you out with the glue issue. Just make sure to explain the waterproof aspect, as it may require specific materials or techniques to keep it functional.

Good luck, and I hope your jacket is back to its waterproof glory soon!
