Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Needed

I’m searching for a taxi service that can accommodate two wheelchair users who are able to transfer to standard seats. One of the wheelchairs is foldable. My daughter and her friend need a ride from Whiteknights to a wheelchair rugby event at Blue Coats School.

Can anyone recommend any friendly taxi companies with larger vehicles? An estate car should suffice, but I’m unsure how to confirm availability without calling each company individually. Thank you!

  1. Hi there! I recommend checking out some local taxi companies that specifically cater to passengers with special needs. Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Accessible Taxis: Some taxi companies have vehicles that are equipped to accommodate wheelchairs and larger groups. A quick Google search for “accessible taxis near me” may yield some options.

    2. Uber or Lyft: Both services offer options for wheelchair accessible vehicles, though it’s best to confirm in advance if they can accommodate your needs since these vehicles can be limited in availability.

    3. Local Concierge Services: Sometimes local concierge or transportation services can assist with special requests and might have larger vehicles available.

    4. Community Resources: Local disability organizations or community centers might have recommendations for taxi services that are familiar with transporting wheelchair users.

It’s definitely a good idea to call ahead to explain your needs and ensure the vehicle will meet your requirements. Good luck, and I hope your daughter and her friend have a great time at the rugby meet!
