Observations on the Decline of Water Levels at Whiteknights Lake

Recently, I’ve noticed a significant change in the water levels at Whiteknights Lake. Over the past few weeks, it appears that the lake’s water has receded by at least 5 to 6 inches. While dry weather can certainly impact bodies of water, I find it hard to believe that this amount of decrease is solely due to recent conditions.

A striking illustration of this drop can be seen in a photo I took, where a goose is now standing on what used to be submerged land. This area, which was once entirely underwater, now presents itself as a new landform, transforming the picturesque scene where these birds used to appear as if they were walking on water.

Many of us appreciate the beauty and serenity that Whiteknights Lake provides, and I’m curious to learn more about its water sources. Does anyone have insights into where the lake receives its water? Understanding this could help us comprehend the factors contributing to the current changes in water levels. Your thoughts and knowledge on this topic would be greatly appreciated!
