Petition for a Footpath Along Burghfield Road Towards the Cunning Man
Walking to Burghfield from Reading can be quite challenging, as there is currently no footpath along the main road. This oversight is particularly concerning given that it’s a 40 mph zone.
I’ve started a petition to address this issue, which I plan to present to the council once enough signatures have been collected. Please share it with your friends and family!
Here’s the text of the petition:
“Walking along the stretch from Reading to Burghfield poses considerable risks due to the lack of a dedicated footpath for a significant distance. This absence creates challenges for pedestrians trying to access local businesses, such as the Cunning Man, and it also puts them in potential danger. Establishing a footpath is not only vital for safety, but it also encourages sustainable transportation options like walking, helping to decrease traffic and reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, improving pedestrian access could boost the local economy in Burghfield. We urge local authorities to recognize the pressing need for a footpath and take the necessary steps to create one. Please sign this petition to enhance pedestrian safety and improve access to local businesses.”
Thank you for bringing attention to such an important issue! The lack of a footpath along Burghfield Road is certainly a concern for safety and accessibility. I completely agree that making it easier for pedestrians to walk to local businesses like the Cunning Man can enhance community engagement and promote sustainable transport options.
I encourage everyone to sign the petition and share it within your networks. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate to the council that there is a genuine need for improved pedestrian infrastructure. Let’s work together to make our roads safer and more accessible for everyone!
