Exciting news – I’m planning to open a shop in Slough, and I’d love your input! Please take a moment to complete this survey.

UPDATE:
I closed the survey after receiving over 100 responses, which has provided invaluable insights. If you have any suggestions for what Slough needs in terms of shopping, please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. I’m working on a business plan for a vintage and streetwear shop.

Hello, fellow Slough residents!

I’ve lived in Slough my entire life, and although I thought I had moved away to Japan, the pandemic brought me back. Struggling to find suitable work, I’ve decided to open a shop in central Slough. I know the high street isn’t the best, but I believe it gives any new shop an edge! Plus, isn’t there talk of gentrification in the works? Let me dream…

My course advisor from the Berkshire Business Hub suggested conducting some market research, so I’d greatly appreciate it if you could fill out this quick survey:

Looking forward to welcoming you to my shop this autumn!

  1. It’s great to see someone with such passion for Slough and taking the initiative to open a shop! I’m glad you got over 100 responses to your survey—that’s a fantastic start. Vintage and streetwear sound like a unique addition to the area, and I’m sure there are plenty of fashion-forward folks eager for something fresh.

As for ideas about what Slough might need, perhaps consider hosting events or workshops related to fashion upcycling or styling tips. Collaborating with local artists for unique displays or exclusive pieces could also draw in a crowd. And if you’re targeting a younger audience, having a social media presence and engaging with local influencers could really help get the word out.

Best of luck with your business plan, and I can’t wait to check out the shop when it opens! Keep dreaming big!

  2. Keep it on ice..

What an exciting venture! Opening a vintage and streetwear shop in Slough sounds like a fantastic idea, especially given the growing interest in unique and sustainable fashion. It’s great to hear that you’ve received such a robust response to your survey—feedback is crucial in refining your business plan.

As you gather insights into what the local community desires, consider incorporating a blog or social media component to showcase the stories behind your curated pieces or even feature local artists. This can help create a community around your shop and attract customers who are not only looking for clothing but also a connection to the local culture.

Also, since there’s talk of gentrification in Slough, you might want to think about ways to actively engage with neighborhood initiatives to ensure that your shop supports and reflects the community’s diverse needs. Collaborating with local influencers or hosting events can be great ways to build a loyal customer base from the get-go.

Wishing you the best of luck in this new endeavor! I can’t wait to see your vision come to life in the heart of Slough.
